What is Place And Train?
The Place And Train (PnT) helps Singaporeans and Permanent Residents in Rank-And-File positions find a new career in the Supply Chain & Logistics industry.
This is a company-sponsored programme. Hence, individuals don't pay for the training. It also means that interested candidates will need to be employed in a supply chain/logistics role before they can join the programme.
Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident;
Participant must be newly hired Rank-And-File and nominated by an eligible participating company for the PNT within 3 months of their hiring;
Must not be in a similar job role in the same industry prior to joining the PCP; and
Graduated or ORD for at least 2 years.
All participating companies must fulfil the following criteria:
Registered or incorporated in Singapore;
Must offer the new hire a job and issue a valid permanent employment contract. Full-time contract employment must be at least 12 months;
Must offer the new hirer a job which is different from his previous employment. Conversions can be inter or intra sectoral; and
Must be able to provide structured OJT training for the candidate.
The PnT is a 3-month long programme, consisting of:
Providing the ultimate flexibility, participants in the PnT are required to attend one of many available logistics training programmes to fast-track their training.
The programmes cover both broad and specific topics to allow companies to tailor what their new trainees will learn.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion from the programme providers upon completion of their respective programmes.
Besides the Sponsored Programmes, the trainees will undergo On-The-Job training with your company for the remaining duration of their time in the programme.
Working in partnership with Workforce Singapore, successful SCALA PnT's participants will qualify for PnT Salary Support for up to 3 months.
Salary Support (Cap applies)
For eligible Singapore Citizens below age of 40 or Permanent Residents :
Capped at $2,000/month
For Long-Term Unemployed* Singapore Citizens, or Singapore Citizens above age of 40:
Capped at $3,000/month
*Long term unemployed is being unemployed (without any CPF contribution) while actively seeking employment for 6 months or more.
From 1st Sep 2020 to 28 Feb 2021, the Salary Support disbursement under the PnT for Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinators for new hires employed between 1 Sep 2020 - 28 Feb 2021 will be over a longer period, which comprises the training duration for the conversion programme plus an additional period of retention (which is equivalent to the training duration). The Salary Support quantum, however remains the same. This means the monthly Salary Support will be reduced and will be dispensed over a period of 6 months (3 months PnT, 3 months retention).
