The Place-and-Train (PnT) helps Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents in Rank-and-File positions find a new career in job roles related to Supply Chain & Logistics.

​This is a company-sponsored programme. Hence, Interested candidates will need to be employed in a Supply Chain or Logistics role before they can join the programme.

Hiring companies will gain access to consider a wider pool of candidates. New hires can learn new applicable skills quickly with WSQ-accredited training and structured OJT.

To encourage employers to hire mid-career switchers, a heavy element of financial support, ranging from 70% to 90% of salary support by WSG will be provided.

1. LTU: unemployed for 6 months or more

2. Mature: aged 40 and above

Addendum: From 1st Sep 2020 to 28 Feb 2021, the Salary Support disbursement under the Professional Conversion Programmes for new hires hired between 1 Sep 2020 - 28 Feb 2021 will be disbursed over a longer period. This comprises the training duration for the conversion programme plus an additional period of retention (which is equivalent to the training duration). The total amount disbursed will remain the same.

Programme Construct

The Place-and-Train Programme for Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinators consist of 2 sections:

1) Sponsored Programmes

Providing the ultimate flexibility, participants in the PnT are required to attend one of many available logistics training programmes to fast-track their training.

​The programmes cover both broad and specific topics to allow companies to tailor what their new trainees will learn.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion from the programme providers upon completion of their respective programmes.

2) In-Company On-the-Job Training

Besides the Sponsored Programmes, the trainees will undergo On-The-Job training with your company for the remaining duration of their time in the programme.

If the new hire has already been with the company for 4 months, are we qualified to participate in this programme?

New hires must enrol and start the OJT within 3 months of their employment start date.

We are not a logistics firm, but we have a small logistics team that manages store and delivery. Can we send our new hires for this programme?

Yes. The Place-and-Train for Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinator are suitable for all supply chain and logistics rank-and-file job roles across business sectors.
