SCALA Newsletter Issue 1
Welcome to the first issue of SCALA’s eNewsletter! As an industry level academy, the eNewsletter will be a monthly issue to keep you updated about the programmes offered by SCALA and keep you abreast of the latest developments in the industry.
We have successfully concluded our graduation ceremony for the 1st cohort of our Supply Chain Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) as well as for the Logistics PCP. This year’s ceremony was a much grandeur event compared to our inaugural graduation ceremony last year as we have almost 3 times more graduates and 3 times more guests.
We would not have achieved this without the blessing from WSG, with the close collaboration with the industry, with the strong support from companies, with the active participation from the graduates and participants in training and applying what they learnt to the workplace, and with the dedication from our Trainers and Mentors.
SCALA has progressed significantly since our inception 3 years ago and so far we have more than 430 participants in our programmes and they are from 115 different companies. Importantly, we have launched the Supply Chain PCP end of last year, and we redeveloped the Logistics PCP March this year. We have shifted our curriculum to bring out the true essence of Applied learning which emphasise case studies and group discussions whereby participants are able to exchange ideas, see things from different perspective, and importantly applying what they learn to the workplace. In fact, we have received many positive feedback from employers saying that they are now directly benefitting from the programme other than the salary support. The announcement by Minister Josephine Teo for an added 150 more training places for the Supply Chain PCP is a further testimonial on how our PCPs can help companies to grow and implement new ideas.
Minister Josephine Teo also announced the launch of the Redeployment PCP during the graduation ceremony for current in service employees whom will be affected by Transformation projects undertaken by the company. SCALA will be the Programme Manager for the Supply Chain and Logistics industry and this is a joint programme by EDB, ESG, and WSG.
Thank you very much for being an important part of SCALA and enjoy reading our inaugural issue.
