The pandemic has led to a surge in eCommerce and accelerated digital transformation. As lockdowns became the new normal, businesses and consumers increasingly “went digital”, providing and purchasing more goods and services online.
Referencing Lazada’s first-ever bi-annual Digital Commerce Confidence Index, COVID-19 has reshaped eCommerce and the different markets across Southeast Asia.
- 52% of Lazada’s sellers experienced a high level of growth during H1 2021, and
- 70% expecting additional growth of more than 10% in the third quarter of 2021 (Q3 2021).
This explosive, yet unforeseen growth in the eCommerce sector has massive implications on how logistics have and will be evolving in the coming years.
This talk will take a birds-eye view of the numerous trends and opportunities percolating in the explosive eCommerce landscape. We will also dive into some of the growing new ways of selling and marketing and see what sense we can make of them.

Daryl currently serves as Senior Vice-President of Strategy at Lazada Group. He leads the regional initiatives across strategic functions such as Government Affairs, Group Research and Sustainability. He is responsible for engaging with a broad range of government officials and key influencers to advance the company’s public policy positions and other strategic initiatives.
Daryl has held leadership positions at global technology companies, including Grab, Singtel and Openbucks. He holds double MBAs from Indiana University and The University of Manchester.
